Crossing the old bridge over the River Cávado, we enter one of the most emblematic places of Minho folk art, Barcelos. With its unique beauty, art, history and, above all, its people, Barcelos is a unique place that stands out from the rest of Minho!
When discovering Barcelos, you can't miss the old Largo da Feira, now Campo da República, where you'll find the eighteenth-century churches of Bom Jesus da Cruz and Nossa Senhora do Terço and where the country's largest handicraft fair is held every Thursday. At the Barcelos Handicrafts Centre, we can get an insight into the artistic expression of Minho, including the colorful Barcelos Rooster.
We finish with a visit and tasting at the region's only cheese producer, washed down with a good vinho verde.
